‘My initial worries about committing to the EBO process were completely dispelled after my first observation. My EBO coach is exactly that, a coach who is on my side, helping me to use the data collected during the observation to enhance my teaching in a friendly, constructive, reflective way. These sequential observations have encouraged me to harness the power of formative assessment in my classroom, which in turn has increased the creativity, discursiveness and effectiveness of my classes. The fact that my coach is an experienced teacher makes EBOs a collaborative journey: one teacher guiding another rather than an intimidating situation where the teacher is judged and criticised by a visiting ‘expert’- professional development at its best!’
